|I attended a call for wasps today in Chester. When I got to the site a team of roofers had disturbed a nasty wasp nest on a flat roof they were about to replace. The nest was located under some slates on the edge of the roof. The slate had been lifted which tore part of the nest away. The 4 men up there beat a hasty retreat and in the process took multiple stings.|
The nest itself was simple enough to treat. I got to the top of the ladder and ran the lance along the roof and poked the nozzle into the nest and applied the dust. The wasps instantly responded and I ducked down the ladder.
This is a photo of the wasps attacking the lance tip after the treatment.
Unfortuently the slates were still off on the roof and needed replacing. This required a bit of bravery with the swarming wasps.
The wasps are unable to penetrate the bee suit but still present a hazardous environment.
Another blast with the lance was applied and another hasty retreat!!
